Cruise company: PRINCESS CRUISES

Comments Off on Cruise company: PRINCESS CRUISES

One of the best-known names in the world of cruising, it is a worldwide cruise and tour company. It has 14 ships on 150 different itineraries that call at 260 ports around the globe.
Princess Cruises was founded in 1965 to offer cruises along the West Coast of the United States and Mexico, and for a long time it remained small and “local. However, in 1975 Hollywood approached Princess as the closest cruise company with an offer to film the television series A Ship of Love aboard a cruise ship – Princess agreed and thanks to the successful series, which dispelled the myth of the insanely expensive and elitist cruises, in a short time became the most famous cruise company in North America and then around the world.
The company began to grow its fleet and was the first in the world to build a ship with a tonnage in excess of 100,000 tons: the Grand Princess, launched in 1998.

Princess ships are designed so that you almost do not feel the crowd and do not stand in queues: instead of one giant restaurant on the liner equipped with two or three restaurants of smaller size with glass partitions, creating a feeling of privacy, instead of one huge theater at your service two or even three showrooms – and every night you can choose between show or cabaret.
On almost all Princess Cruises liners, you can dine at any table in any of the restaurants at any time – but if you prefer to dine at the same table, at the same time and with the same waiter, the company will arrange this service for you as well.

Princess itineraries span the globe, with cruises ranging from 7 to 72 days. Destinations include the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, Panama Canal, Mexico, South Pacific Islands, South America, Hawaii/Tahiti, Asia, India, Africa, Holy Land, Canada/New England, Antarctica and circumnavigation of the globe.
Princess is one of the leaders in Alaskan cruises and tours, and owns five river cottages, plus a fleet of luxury automobiles to take passengers through the heart of the 49th state.
Princess also additionally arranges cruise tours to China, Australia, Africa, India, Europe, the Canadian Rockies and the eastern United States.
On the on-board front, Princess Cruises is known for presenting innovative services and programs. For example, Creole and Cajun cuisine restaurants appeared on the Coral and Island ships for the first time. Another innovation is the “Training at Sea” programs. These are offered on the Coral Princess and Island Princess, and provide a variety of learning and hobby-oriented opportunities in areas ranging from cooking to digital photography. In addition, the company also promotes an “accessible veranda” policy, especially on Grand Class ships. Internet cafes are also a relatively recent addition.

The cruises are perfect for those who love the big city feel and American lifestyle.

Today, Princess Cruises is part of the largest cruise holding company, Carnival Corporation.
